Memorial Day Weekend in the Bitterroot Valley: Honor, Adventure & the Perfect RV Basecamp

Hey fellow road warriors! As we roll into Memorial Day Weekend 2026 (May 23–25), the Bitterroot Valley is waking up to summer with that classic Montana mix of heartfelt remembrance, small-town energy, and epic outdoor fun. If you’re towing your rig into Hamilton this weekend, Black Rabbit RV Park is your ideal riverside home base—full hookups, direct access to the Bitterroot River for fishing or floating, and just minutes from everything happening in the valley.

Saturday, May 23 – Kick off the weekend right

Head downtown to the Hamilton Farmers Market (9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on Bedford Street) for fresh produce, baked goods, local crafts, and live music—the perfect way to stock your fridge before hitting the trails or river. While you’re out, swing by the Gull Boats & RV Full Throttle Super Sale at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds (still going strong through the weekend) if you’re dreaming of upgrades or just want to window-shop the latest rigs.

Veterans and their families: the American Legion Ravalli Post 47 is placing white crosses and American flags at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton starting at 9 a.m. Saturday—rain or shine. It’s a meaningful way to start the weekend and honor those who served.

Monday, May 25 – Parade & Remembrance

The highlight of the weekend is the 106th Annual Corvallis Memorial Day Parade at 10 a.m. on Main Street in Corvallis (just a short drive south from Hamilton). Hosted by American Legion Post #91, this beloved community tradition features floats, marching bands, veterans, and plenty of hometown pride. Expect ceremonies earlier in Hamilton honoring fallen service members at the Ravalli County Museum, the Bitterroot River bridge, and Riverview Cemetery.

Beyond the events: Your Bitterroot bucket list

With longer days and warming temps, this is prime time to launch kayaks or cast a line right from our riverbank at Black Rabbit RV Park. Hike the nearby Bitterroot Mountains, explore Lake Como, or take a scenic drive up the valley. The valley’s farmers markets, historic sites like St. Mary’s Mission, and laid-back vibe make it the perfect spot to slow down and soak it all in.

Whether you’re here for the parades, the fishing, or just some peaceful riverside camping, Memorial Day weekend in the Bitterroot is when Montana truly shines. Spots at Black Rabbit RV Park are filling up fast—book your site today and make this weekend one for the memory books.

Safe travels, happy camping, and thank you to all who served.

See you on the river!
